Mandad is descended from an ancient lineage of potato eaters. He was born in Birkenhead across the Mersey River from Liverpool in Northern England.

His work has explored banality, profundity, and humour, usually at the same time.

Mandad’s materials and techniques range from pigmented silicone, polyurethane foam rubber, and shattered glass to digital montage and photography. As one art critic put it: “It’s impossible to describe the eclecticism, irony, ritual, and humour that permeate Mandad’s work, but it’s fun to try.” This website is a selected retrospective of his former work.
